putty or tera term connection managers

Hi,

What is your connection manager of choice for either putty or teraterm?

I am currently using SuperPutty, I like it so far as it lets you save sessions on the right side and have multiple connections open in one window with tabs.

I have my devices connected to the console server, and I telnet to the console server to access the routers/switches that way.

I use Putty Connection Manager. It supports a password protected database which is good for all the login macros you might use. At a quick glance I didn't see that feature in superputty.

I use PuTTY Connection Manager too. It's been sufficient for all my needs. Features I love:
(1) For CCNP labs, re-naming tabs. Router "R1" may become "Miami1" when doing a particular lab.
(2) For Server access, the ability to use certificates for security.

Did I really say "on ebay", I meant "google"! I obviously need to shut the pc down and go to bed! lol

I'm using TeraTerm. For some reason Putty doesn't work to well for me. If I shut down the connection or it times out it seems to lose the com port that it was using and I have to go back and plug my console cable into another USB port before it starts working again. It would probably work better if I could use a serial port but my computer doesn't have one so I'm limited to using a USB adapter. I have no such problem with TeraTerm though.

I'm not the biggest fan of PuTTY. I've been using Xshell lately. Its free for home use.

I always use SecureCRT. It's worth every penny.

Edit: not hijacking, just offering alternative.

Tera Term Collector comes bundled with the install and allows you to do tabbed browsing. Not sure if has other features. Very handy for GNS3 though.

I use Remote Desktop Manager from Devolutions. Puts it all in one place.

+1 for SecureCRT, although I haven't been able to get the log on scripts to work with my Digi CM32 access switch. If anyone knows how, please PM me.

I couldn't even bring myself to ask work to pay for it... It is very expensive for what it is...

I use Putty, does everything I want it to and is free.

$100 is expensive? Meh, to each his own.

I could very easily afford it myself but as I said it is far too expensive for what it is. I'd also need to have 4 licences at work to make it worth while plus 1 at home.

No doubt SecureCRT is nice, but when you have tools like putty/tera term/xshell (downloaded it, thanks for the link!) that's a $100+ that can be spent elsewhere imho.

$100 is expensive given the availability of other full featured free clients. I would pay $15 for it max, it just doesn't provide enough extra value to me to justify a $100 price tag.
