Hello Everyone,
I am currently making $15.00 as a contractor for my first job as level 1 help desk and I believe today the manager had talked to me about bringing me on as a full time employee after 6 months with a increase to $18.00.
How many of you think for my first IT job as a level one help desk that is good starting pay. I'm just curious of what others had made in there help desk position.

I think that is a good pay start of $15.00, I too here in NC was offered $15.00 hr; for Tier-1 Help Desk, I have a B.S. in Information Systems, trying to get off to getting my foot in the door. Yes, no experience
Experience and studing for the A+, N+. -
rsutton Member Posts: 1,029 ■■■■■□□□□□That was what I made at my tier1 support position and I'm in the Bay Area which means that figure would look good almost anywhere.
Never mind the fact that I started in the mid 90's :] -
Repo Man Member Posts: 300I've seen people make $30 an hour doing level 1 work. Depends on the company and if you know your stuff.

Yes there are higher paying level 1 positions, but there are also lower paying higher level positions. Sounds like a good start to me.Pain is only temporary. No matter how bad it gets, it always ends!
