Well I got a new job. I am now a sys admin for the USGS in Utah. I start on the 23rd. Not bad going from a Helpdesk position. Now I just need to find a cheap room in Salt Lake until my family joins me.

I was on an Internet help desk for 6 years and I worked on a helpdesk with the National Guard for 3 years. One of the questions I was asked in my interview was about a specific program i had limited experience with. the director pointed out my lack of experience and said the previous person was an expert, what did I have to say. My answer was that the previous person didn't become an expert until it broke the first time on her. The head IT manager liked the answer as I could see him nodding. Plus in my weekend warrior job in the guard, I worked with routers, firewalls, wanscalers, and switches.WGU B.S.IT - Software - Completion Date January, 2015 (Sooner Hopefully)
