CWTS Pass - 91%

Swift6Swift6 Member Posts: 268 ■■■■□□□□□□
After rescheduling the exam a few times in the last few months. I finally sat and passed CWTS today with 91%

Used the official Sybex book and CWNP practise questions. Found the exam relatively easy in comparison to others I have sat. Also really improved my understanding of 802.11. :D

    Congratulations! :D And that's a great score!

Be prepared for the CWNP and CWSP to be much more difficult than the CWTS.

I'm extremly obsessed with telecommunications! Did it in the Army, have FCC license for GMRS/HAM, and now work as a pen tester. One of the modules the company I work for is wireless pen testing/recon. As far as wireless technology goes which track should be followed for a person who does PEN testing?

Wireless technology is at OSI Layers 1 and 2, while pen testing is typically in Layers 3, 4, and mostly 7. Pen testing wireless networks is about defeating firewalls and authentication systems to become a legitimate user and gain access to the wired network. Understanding different wireless (802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee) access control standards and implementations is where you should start,
