Passed My CWNA PW0-104 2 weeks ago and today a new PW0-105 was announced

Hello,

2 weeks ago I passed my CWNA PW0-104. Yesterday I got my Certificate and Card via mail. Today CWNA PW0-105 was announced. Is this my bad luck? I never wanted to get certified but then decided to take the CWNA as I have a good understanding of RF and a Telecom Diploma.

My CWNA is supposed to expire in 3 years or will it expire in 3 months after this announcement?

Please clarify.

Thanks!

3 years from when you passed. It's like passing the Network+ or Security+, yes new versions have came out within the past year but it doesn't make your current certification any less special or valuable.

The certification and exam are two separate things. When a new revision of an exam is release, it doesn't affect all current certifications. So you are good for the full cycle.

Thanks YuckTheFankee and JDMurray. I thought it'll automatically invalidate my certification [Sigh]

    Hey Alikoo...
    First of all congratulation.
And i have scheduled my CWNA test on 15th June 2012 so just wanted your help regarding how to prepare for it in the final stages.
I have gone through the sybex official guide, what more can be done for the exam.
Any help from your side is greatly appreciated.

Hi Nilesh1989, sorry for the delay. I do not check here very ofter. Sybex is the right book.
It's been 2 months since I did the test. I'm trying to remember.

Know the basics: RF theory, Topologies, intentional radiator, etc
Know the calculations: insertion loss in cables, antenna gain, etc
Important: Site Survey (must know), PoE, 802.11n, Security, Encryption

Sorry cannot remember much. My mind is set on CCNA as I did it on Friday.

Give it a shot. Good luck!
