Does anyone teach at the university level or teach online?

Any thoughts on this? I am really interested in eventually teaching online, but seems like it is pretty hard to get into.
Anyone do this right now?

A friend of mine teaches a Pharmacy Tech class online for a local college in the evenings as a side job. His day job is Manager of a local Walgreens. I'm not sure how hard it was for him to get into teaching, but he says teaching an online class is a lot of work. Lots of grading to do, lots of prep work, etc. That being said, he does it from home, which might be nicer than having to be in a classroom on campus. -

Thanks for the reply! I think a lot of jobs would be MUCH better working from home, IMHO.
Teaching online seems like it is something directly hard to do, as I believe most teachers have to have taught in a traditional classroom setting first before being offered or considered for online teaching. Oh well, time to formulate more ideas to get out of Support into something better!2017 Goals:

If it was "a lot of work" your buddy wouldn't be doing it.
All adjuncts say that....to justify working, in essence, 2-3 hours a week. Yes, depending on the amount of students, and what sort of assignments are given, it could well be 7-12 hours more for grading....at the end of the day, it's still a lot better than asking if you want fries with that...
I hope to get into this when I'm done with my own graduate studies....a Masters (from a reputable school) is really all one needs to be an adjunct professor. -

It totally depends - The best online teaching gigs (imo) feature a Facilitator who simply rolls out pre-determined curriculum with ready-made assignments, materials, reading, etc. Now THAT my friend, is the job you want.
