What did you use to study for your CCNP?In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

Heavy on the FLG
Light on the OCG
Heavy on the CBT's (do not rely on these, only use them as an introduction to the concepts and I feel they are worth it)
Heavy on the labbing during ROUTE via GNS3 (3640 with 12.4 enterprise image)
I had sold all my L3 switches (well cisco ones) so I had to just lab it up in my head for SWITCH, I deal mostly with HP procurves daily which are all L3 capable anyways
TSHOOT I just walked in and took it, if you are a break/fix engineer this will be a walk in the park.
If you DO NOT HAVE ANY break/fix experience then i would suggest for TSHOOT study to built 10-20 labs, break 4-5 small items per lab and then sit on it for a week or two so it leaves your memory for a bit. If you have a tech/engineer friend to break the labs for you then its even better. Then go through and troubleshoot each one to resolution.
One other thing I do is get some cheap white boards ($7 at walmart) and I list every single topic from the FLG table of contents. I then go down the line and use a blank whiteboard to explain it to my wife, the fish, the cat, the dog, myself as if I was going to teach a class on it. If you can explain the concepts in a unique fashion that is personal to you then you have just made a permenant resident in your long term memory via object association.
Now I need to learn how to build callcenters for work..... -

The alternative to the cpu cooling you've got. It looks large.
I found out that navigating around a large CPU heatsink with fans leads to a lot of cuts, and blood.
Especially troubleshooting for it. I've got my computer out of it's rather big case. Too Big and awkward for holding nothing much. I'll probably down-size to a mid-tower. I just hope it'll hold the large video cards of the new generation. In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

I got a 2TB seagate, its been running up to 160MB/s on long single ISO bursts, sometimes higher. Overall I have insane speeds all the way around. I have a WD external 2.0 320gb drive running my backups off the SSD, and a usb 3.0 toshiba 500gb drive running long term backups of my large format data.
I also run drop box for small files offsite backups and crashplan for my dailys. I want another 3-4 HDD's by the end of the year for a raid 5 media streaming (tversity) and storage solution.
Just passed CCDA today, that was pretty cheese. I just went thruoght he book and test questions over the weekend.
Now for some real fun, QOS, UCAD, LCSUAC for work.
Then I can finally start on CCNA Voice and CCNP Vouice by Dec 31st, also for work.
ITS GONNA BE A BUSY YEAR. -

how does the TSHOOT compare to the Route and Switch exams in terms of difficulty and comprehension of the subject matter?I'm an Xpert at nothing apart from remembering useless information that nobody else cares about. -
PhildoBaggins Member Posts: 276i didnt read the book or really study that much for it. It will very easy compared to ROUTE and SWITCH. CCNA Security tomorrow 3pm woot.

jamesp1983 Member Posts: 2,475 ■■■■□□□□□□Congrats! Great score and I structure my studies in a similar fashion."Check both the destination and return path when a route fails." "Switches create a network. Routers connect networks."
