Nice rack!!!

Right now my home lab is sitting on the floor under my desk. It is a homelab, but I would like it to be a little more presentable. Where can I find a rack to mount my gear on?

I got a 6' 19" rack off ebay for £60 ($85). I know that new ones are very expensive. Also try to find out is any companies have gone bankrupt near you as they often auction the stuff off to recover the debts.

I have searched there a bit. I find either misc random auctions, or professional grade equipment. Are there some manufacturers that I use to refine my search?

Im afriad a new one will set you back thousands, so just have to keep an eye out for a good deal. I found a few by doing a search for 19" rack.

Is it just me or was this title a little misleading. I had my hopes set on something else. lol

When I was looking for a rack I just dug through the phonebook and looked for electronic equipment stores. I found a couple places that stock racks (that was a suprise for a small town like mine) but that way you could save on shipping and put that money towards nicer rack. Normally shipping on racks is really high. I ended up getting one given to me that was taken from a production environment. Free, thats a pretty sweet deal. lol

I got mine off ebay as well. I think it was under 100 and was brandnew with a nice black finish on it and a cool logo up top that says "IC Network". I have a couple of cisco 2500's, a 2620, and 2 enterprise 2900XL switches all mounted to it. Looks pretty sweet in the room.
