Convert .TIB (Acronis True Image 2012) file into .WIM file.

Hello Guys,

Is there any way to convert acronis true image file .tib to microsoft's .wim file.

I had researched but was not able to find any solution. Hoping to find here in my virtual community. Thanks. icon_rolleyes.gif

Interesting problem. Hopefully I can help.

I don't know of any conversion tools but I would try:

    1. Restore the Acronis file to a spare hard drive.
    2. Boot-up the hard drive on a machine.
-You might have to bring out your windows DVD and perform a start-up repair.
    3. Assuming the previous steps worked you could then create a .wim file from inside the operating system.

    Further thoughts:
    1. If you get it to boot I would open CMD and run sfc /scannow to ensure all your system files are not corrupted from the restore.

    2. If it doesn't boot you could hook it up as a slave drive and possibly re-image the drive as a .wim file

Also, this was originally posted in the wrong category. I don't really mind, but it helps for organizational purposes to keep things in the proper category.

I saw there is an option in Home 2012 to convert an Acronis backup to a Windows backup, and vice versa. I haven't done it so I don't know what extensions/formats the tibs are converted into.
