To answer a few questions...
I used Tamera Dean's Network+ book (Network+ Guide to Networks (Networking (Course Technology)): Tamara Dean: 9781423902454: Amazon.com: Books) The version I used was a school assigned text book, and it well... sucked. I read through some of Todd Lammle's Network+ Study Guide. It was a great book and really explained some things clearly. Near the end, I went through with the Exam Cram book for Net+
As to what's next... Security+A+, MTA: Networking, Net+, MTA: Security, MTA: OS Fundamentals, Security+
