Out of curiosity, what problems/limitations are you having with packet tracer?
Fantastic. The project manager is inspired.

IOS for 2600 image does not work properly with GNS3. Use IOS 12.4 for 2691 and 7200.

I'm sure if you did a search, you'd find the answer and the files you need. But it is 26XX or 26XX XM router IOS, 36XX, 37XX and 7200. 12.4 is what is recommended. The 7200 can run IOS 15.

And Packet Tracer doesn't support many ISR and catalyst IOS commands. Plus it's buggy in certain respects (not to say GNS3 isn't either). I remember when 5.2 came out and I had my students do an elaborate lab that incorporated BGP, and it kept crashing Packet Tracer.

I used Packet tracer to do my switching labs, and gns for the routing ones. Had some real gear as well but couldn't take that on the train to work with me. icon_lol.gif
