Finally. I'm in. It's just a call intake analyst (IT Specialist) gig, but it's a start. They have decent benefits too. I'm excited and ready to work and network. Thank God.
I owe a majority of my recent success to the individuals who offered advice and tips from this website. You guys are great. After I fax over my acceptance, I'm hitting up the last three chapters of my Network+ book. Our work is never done.
Thanks everyone.

What exactly will you be doing? How did you land that gig? What did you do to land it? Will there be opportunities in the future to advance? I myself am looking to break in and change careers.
Again, congratulations, it seems like a nice start.2012 Goals: A+, Network+ by the end of the summer; one other certification before the New Year (haven't decided on MS or Cisco, or something else) -

I'll be honest, the A+ got me the job. My PM said it verbatim. It showed her that I'm really interested in this field.
It's really basic stuff, I'm supporting computers, password reset, setting up network printers, all remotely. They actually told me up front that I'll have a lot of downtime so I could prepare for my cert exam or study during the slow periods. Tuition reimbursement, medical/dental/vision/, paid vacations, the basic stuff. The company I'll be working for has a lot of other ventures with the government so I should been on the network side in no longer than a year/year and a half, hopefully.
As for getting the job, I just went after the recruiter on a weekly basis until something opened for me. Persistence is key.
Best of luck to you.Goals for 2015: CCNP -
