Cisco WAVE 694-K9 - Anyone ever use one?

I am installing a Cisco WAVE 694-K9 today. Don't need to do any configuration on it but just curious what it is and what it does. I think WAVE stands for Wide Area Virtulization Engine. Any ideas?

Depends on the application – It could be used for video, WAN optimization, and or hosting virtual severs/Apps (right on the device). Blew my mind the first time that I got the opportunity to install VMWare ESX server on a Cisco SRE module installed inside of a 2900 chassis.
