Network+ down, CCNA next!

gadav478gadav478 Member Posts: 374 ■■■□□□□□□□
Passed the N10-004 about a hour ago. It wasn't easy, it wasn't hard. Maybe it truly was easy but being so tired made it a little more difficult. I work at night so that played a part.

In any case, I am now Network+ certified. icon_cheers.gif

After I take a nap, the drinks will be flowing. icon_lol.gif

Thanks to everyone here, we're a tight knit community and we do a lot more to help each other than harm each other. You've definitely helped me. CCNA is next I believe, not sure yet.

More people should follow this strategy IMO if you are heading towards networking.

So many times I see people bounce off to nail out Security +. I personally like this move much better.

Congratz on your pass and on your decision to pursue the CCNA

So CCENT should be passed over and CCNA should be the next stop?

Would like to know if you wanted to simply do some group reading. Well you read individually but just to get started accountability wise. email me at 1411@mail.com if you or anyone is interested.

    Thanks and relief in progress!

Well, I consider the CCENT as part of the CCNA. It's the first ICND, you just happen to get a separate cert for it too. Both the composite route and ICND1 then ICND2 are both valid to getting the CCNA.

Not neccessarily. I think the Net+ a good portion of the CCENT, but its foundation in networking is too important to just pass over. Because it's such an entry level cert though, the CCNA is just more a goal lol...

So, you mean that Net+ is a solid foundation for CCENT?

Congratulations! I hope to be with you too, but I have to pass A+ first.
2012 Goals: A+, Network+ by the end of the summer; one other certification before the New Year (haven't decided on MS or Cisco, or something else)

I didn't have to study hard for ICND1 because it took me almost half a year to get prepared for Network+. It's a little bit more deep but doesn't cover many topics that Network+ deals with.
    Good luck!

Yes, from what I can tell. I took a Global Knowledge 5 day boot camp for the CCENT (I'm thinking it was wise not to just dive in and take it). The concepts in the N+ translate into the CCENT well but you will have to study to get those IOS commands down.

Well, then Cisco here I come!!! I was leaning toward a Microsoft first, I must say, but after "listening" here it seems like Cisco should be the ticket. Any recommendations on whose text I should use?
