Cisco stack reorder?

Hi All,

Just wondered if anyone could help. Im currently working on a switch stack which is out of order, it currently goes 1,3,4,2 rather than 1,2,3,4. Could anyone point me in the right direction of how to re order it? I thought it would be as simple as:

switch 3 renumber 2
switch 4 renumber 3
switch 2 renumber 4

switch 2 priority 14
switch 3 priority 13
switch 4 priority 12

But been told it wont work.
