Hey there i'm interested in finding some decent Redhat books / resources for the purpose of learning more about the Operating system, I don't have the intention of getting cerfitied but am just really interested in Linux and Red Hat in general.
I will be using Centos
this book looks good has anyone used it?
Red Hat Certified Technician & Engineer (RHCT and RHCE) Training Guide and Administrator's Reference, RHEL 5 eBook: Asghar Ghori: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store
Thoughts on Jangs book is it any good?
Thanks

azjag Member Posts: 579 ■■■■■■■□□□I've been using the following books in my quest for the RHCSA/RHCE.
I've read this one twice.
Amazon.com: RHCSA/RHCE Red Hat Linux Certification Study Guide (Exams EX200 & EX300), 6th Edition (Certification Press) (9780071765657): Michael Jang: Books
I ordered this one yesterday. It is written by a member of techexams.
Amazon.com: Hands-on Guide to the Red Hat Exams: RHCSA and RHCE Cert Guide and Lab Manual (Certification Guide) (9780321767950): Damian Tommasino: Books
I have mixed reviews about this one. It's a good book, but I use it as more of a reference.
Amazon.com: Practical Guide to Fedora and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, A (6th Edition) (9780132757270): Mark G. Sobell: Books
I'm looking at this one but on the fence if I am going to buy it. Price plus no reviews make it a hard sell. Need to find out if anybody here has used it.

azjag Member Posts: 579 ■■■■■■■□□□Price isn't the issue with buying the book. I'm hesitant because there are no reviews for it. I like other work the author has done and might pull the trigger based on that fact alone. Just hoping somebody on the forums has read it and could chime in.
Just about all the books I buy are training materials and subsequently a write off for my business. If only I could find a way to justify books like the Game of Thrones series as training.Currently Studying:
VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 – Data Center Administration (VCAP5-DCA) (Passed)

onesaint Member Posts: 801Nice reference. I picked up "Hacking Red Hat Enteprise Linux." For 2.99, it looked interesting even if just as a quick reference.Work in progress: picking up Postgres, elastisearch, redis, Cloudera, & AWS.
Next up: eventually the RHCE and to start blogging again.
