auto qos question

in CCNA & CCENT
Now I understand if I use the command auto qos voip cisco-phone, and I unplug the phone and say plug in a terminal my qos connection is broken until I plug a phone back in. Question is it really a phisically broken connection( a port down state) or will the terminal work as a active port.

The port will still work but the QoS actions will not be implemented.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
