CISSP exam soon

Figured I'd post a quick little blurb here since I'm taking the CISSP in a couple of days. I didn't start studying as early as I'd hoped, but I am in an ISC(2) approved bootcamp now, so hopefully that will help. I think it has so far..but we'll see how the exam goes. Waiting 3+ weeks to know my results is going to be rough, though.

Best of luck to anyone else trying to tackle this (or other) exams!

Good luck. Make sure you pay attention to the BCP & DR domain; I felt that I had woefully underestimated it when it came to test time.

Good luck! Access Control, BCP, Security Governance, and Crypto are the important ones you NEED to know. Don't waste too much time on legal and physical.

Good luck! I just completed an ISC2 boot camp and tested June 10. Still waiting for results. Who is your instructor?
Feel the fear, and do it anyway!

Finished the test in 2 1/2 hours today. (that's 39.6 seconds per question, which I think is reasonable). Always been a quick test taker. Went back and reviewed a few questions and felt OK about it. Along with a lot of others who took it, I had a feeling of "I have no idea how I did" when I got up..so we will see. If I failed I'll hit the books and CBT Nuggets for a couple of months and retake. Fingers crossed.

2 1/2 is really fast especially for PBT. Mine took 5 1/2 hours but I did the triple pass and I double checked my answer sheet.

I did a partial review- only of questions I 'flagged' for review (by marking a '?' in the booklet). I SHOULD have done a second pass. When it comes to certifications, my individual perspective (just for me..not for anyone else) is that usually once I've answered the question, going back just makes it worse. That being said, for this exam, I wish I'd reviewed more due to the tricky questions.

It's going to be a long 3+ weeks..

I used to lurk in the CISSP forums and think "man, they're really impatient"- now the tables have turned. Can't believe how long you have to wait for these results. Oh well. At least if I have to retake it'll be the computer-based test.

Thank you. I was really expecting a fail to be honest. I had never seen about 85% of the material before, and I can safely say if I had not attended the ISC(2) bootcamp I would NOT have passed. I could have, but not in such a short timespan.

    Congratulations!

But you are not a CISSP until your endorsement had been accepted. Having only passed the exam, you are "Associate of the (ISC)2."

Thanks JD. You're right. I didn't mean to claim "I am a CISSP", although putting in my certs list definitely does that. I'll take it out of there in order to be proper.

Yeah, but don't gyp yourself. Stick "Associate of the (ISC)2" in there!

    Hi Mrock4,

    Congratulations!

    mrcock & others,
I'm trying take the exam by Aug end. Like others threads mentioned, is it better to concentrate more on Access Control, BCP, Security Governance, and Crypto?
    Thanks

@harry, Yes. You'll see those topics much more. AC, BCP, SG, and Crypto should be your TOP priority and then study the rest. Physical security and legal should be your ABSOLUTE last priority. You won't see much about them on there

@Iris do you think this will hold true also for the CBT? Also, congrats on your CISSP and finishing your degree!

Keep studying! But seriously, if you're randomly dreaming of the ISO 27000 series, you're probably ready! I would make sure you're sharp on BCP and Crypto, because I've heard they test heavily on those.

A big "thank you" to everyone..it's good to see these forums are indeed alive.

Thistleback- Congrats on the recent pass also! You know just as I do how good it feels..I was more relieved than excited, I'd say.

To everyone else- What's the usual turnaround for endorsements once submitted?

Received my endorsement less than 3 weeks after submission.
