Landed a Network Architect role!

Well as some of you know i moved to australia recently from the UK and this is the first post since i arrived. Luck must have been on my side, i applied for a few contract roles (due to visa restrictions) and a large company consultancy has taken me on as a Network Architect within their team, outsourcing me on multi million dollar projects. Its a massive step and one i am keen on making the most of. My last role was a mix of 80% project work (design and imp) and 20% support. This role is purely Design based with no implementation involved. Some may see this as a downside but i see it as a way to get some great experience that was not available to me previously and will no doubt improve and boost my CV.

Looking over everything i believe i need to improve the following:

1) Design - The role is based on Cisco products and technologies so im thinking the CCDP would be a excellent learning process.
2) project methodology - understand how large projects work. Possibly take something like prince2 foundation.
3) understand architecture frameworks - not quite sure on this one!

Could any other network architects out there provide some advice on what i could do to "cement" my role as an architect or help with the above thoughts?

Congrats! I don't know your background, but this title is a solid one!

It depends what sector your looking in mate. West coast is pretty solid, depending on your field, as the majority of business is mainly in the oil, gas, mining sector, so the sector has cash to spend. East coast is more financial based and tightly managed from what ive heard. I found work pretty easy but that was a networking role. i think alot depends on your skills, the time your looking etc.
