The CCIE is important to me.

CCIE <
I see becoming more technically competent as a good way to boost my salary beyond $150k, which would improve the quality of life I can offer my family and myself.
No! I am not the sort to lock myself in a room indefinitely to achieve this.
I expect to spend more time on the written than I strictly need to, to ensure that I fully master the topics, to be stronger at work and to be better prepared for those pricey lab hours!
(I first passed the CCIE Written several years ago.)

Sorta! I've passed the CCIE written before, and I remember it being a letdown, not a step up from CCNP. I know I need to review all the topics, but I don't see the sequence as essential. I'm hitting them as they interest me, or as they become important at my workplace. I want to strengthen my foundation before I pass the CCIE Written, so when I do pass it, I'll be ready for the lab sprint. And I want to pass QoS along the way to finish my CCIP. -

Labbed a troubleshooting scenario
I mostly reinforced what I already knew this past week, via reviews and my career. I'm at an.. interesting.. place. Sometimes I'm an expert. Sometimes I'm no better than average. I can't afford to be no better than average in my role! It's not an easy road, but it's a good one.
