Cisco Certs Grand Discounts?

I read somewhere on a Learn Smart document that earning Cisco certifications can earn a company discounts when purchasing equipment. We are planning on migrating from Extreme Networks to Cisco later this year, is this something that a small IT staff can work towards to gain a reasonable amount of discounts in new equipment? Where can I find this information?

    I believe that's only true if the company is a Certified Partner. I think that Gold Partners may get discounts on not-for-resale hardware.
