Anyone got any good info on RIP Version 2 ?

    ver 2 subnet mask information is passed- allows for classless.. rip version 1 is classful

    RIPv1 sends routing updates out with a broadcast 255.255.255.255

    RIPv2 sends routing updates out with a multicast 224.0.0.9

    also supports authentication for the routing updates

    I think this is one of the first things you'll notice when using debug.
    RipV2 is easier on networks for this reason too...
