Having the equipment will help you to realistically see the concepts you're learning, especially since you may one day have to implement in the real world; however, using the simulation/emulation means will suffice and should be enough to pass the exam.

Combine that with GNS3 + VOICE IOS image, and you have everything needed for a lab. Also, use IP Communicator for virtual phones. My advice to anyone looking to advance their career would be to learn DevOps tools and methodologies. Learn how to write code in languages like Python and JavaScript. Not to be a programmer, but a network automation specialist who can do the job of 10 engineers in 1/3 of the time. Create a GitHub account, download PyCharm, play with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Automation isn't the future, it's here today and the landscape is changing dramatically.

CUCM 8.6 | eBay
You could try to torrent a copy of CUCM but with the ever changing political landscape of the Internet I would shy away from stuff like that.My advice to anyone looking to advance their career would be to learn DevOps tools and methodologies.
