Connection from one switch to another switch

I would like to achieve this type of cconnection


Modem >>>> Switch 1>>>>5 computers & Switch 2>>>> 2 computers.


So wat will be the DNS Servers for both the switch????? and the IP addresses.

    What modem are you using ? Is it nat or are your using public ip's on each machine ?

    You'll need the modem to go to a router, unless you have a layer 3 switch that you're first connecting to. As for the IP addresses for each machine, that's entirely up to you for the private range. You'll need to calculate how many hosts you need on the network and then select the appropriate range. I'd suggest 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0 for the router to the switch. Put the switch as 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0 (I always put my switches at the opposite end of the range, I don't know why).

    I always used good old 4.2.2.2 as a DNS server, always worked well for me.
