Is there a list of "Best Practices" for which routing protocols would be best for a particular network topology?

Example: RIP vs OSPF vs IGRP

RIP - for small networks (because of the maximum hop count of 15).
OSPF - for large networks.
IGRP or EIGRP - for networks with Cisco routers only.
