    Enterprise Plus.

You'll need most of the features that this enables for VCP-5.

Enterprise Plus is what you should be learning on if you're studying for VCP5.

You don't have much of a choice anyway. Unless you purchase / enter a proper serial, the software will always have all features enabled during the trial period (60 days) - which essentially is Enterprise Plus.

Say you have a machine that ran ESX server 2.5 and would like to install Vsphere 5, the storage hardware used for 2.5 isn't supported for Vsphere. I can install SATA drives into the machine and install Vsphere but wondered if there is any way to import the VM's from the drives used with 2.5.

V2V migration will work if you can't attach the old storage to new vCenter.

You can use vmware converter but the source 2.5 VM needs to be online for that ... or rather the destination vSphere server. If you need to use the same hardware then the only option is third party - you can use certain versions of Acronis for example - create an image from the VM, reinstall the server and use vmware converter to migrate the Acronis image to the new vSphere server.

Would it be possible to hook up all drives and boot into live version of linux and transfer vm files from old scsi drives to new sata drive used for vsphere. If that's possible, what files would i need to copy?
