Had two interviews

I had an interview on Friday with one company and then another interview on Monday with another company.
First interview was for a NOC position that the company was starting up a NOC to manage a large enterprise network they won a contract for. While the lady that I interviewed with liked my personality she felt I was a little light on experience even though I had experience with the monitoring tool they would be using and call center experience. It's just my troubleshooting experience is pretty much none existent at this point on networking equipment. I was told they still had a couple of interviews to do and that they would let me know by Monday. Well I haven't heard back yet so I'm sure I didn't get that job since it was supposed to go live yesterday. It was contract to hire.
The second interview on Monday was for a server tech position with another large corporation working in a major data center. Pretty much installations and break/fix. Nothing I haven't done before so I would've been a great fit for this job. But I didn't get this job either and they said they wanted me to stay in the loop because they also felt I would be a great fit and thought a couple of positions might open up in the future. The only thing I didn't like about it was the position had already been filled the position earlier that day and never bothered to say anything. Not even during the interview. I guess that's why I ended up asking most of the questions and the interview was so short. Again this was yet another contract to hire position.
Just disappointing all around.

Zorodzai Member Posts: 357 ■■■■■■■□□□Don't give up, you will find most board members have had similar experiences - interviewing for positions that were already filled, being told one is too inexperienced\over experienced....... work on your certifications, try and get as much experience as you can, keep your resume flowing out there and you will get something right up your creek

Vik210 Member Posts: 197I am sorry to hear that but this happens so often. I have seen interviews where the only purpose was to comply with “labour market test” in UK and had no real vacancy. It’s sad but it happens.
What I think is, you learn from every interview you give. You meet new people you learn what to say and what to avoid next time. You get more and more confident in talking to people.
I think Zorodzai is right in saying to get more experience (that will only come with time) and work on your certification and never stop learning. Many of us get a good job and sit back. Keep the momentum going and within years you will be picking companies you want to work for!
All the best
