So i just recently started a new job. But i have decided i would like to work an additional full time job. I work in the Pentagon so there are plenty of IT jobs up for grabs. And i wont have to worry if the job hours are back to back as its less than 10min walk to anywhere in the building.
I would to hear your experiences with working more then one job and how to let your employer know that the job they would be offering you would be in addition to another one you already have.
I have a feeling that most employers will not like this as they feel the person will not be 100% for each job beacuse of the long hours.
Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated. I also attached my updated resume, if there is anything a miss please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Experience instead of Work history, but that's debatable. -

As far as the second job thing, well I'm not even sure that you could work two jobs in the Pentagon at the same time. I assume your job requires some level of clearance and that any other job in the Pentagon would, and as far as I know in order to work for a government agency or on a contract the contracting agency has to "hold" your clearance in some way which two companies cannot do at the same time. I believe you are also responsible to report to your security manager any other jobs you are pursuing.
I would also make sure that the other job is part-time, trying to work two full-time jobs you really risk getting burnt out and losing both jobs for poor performance.
I would look for a second job outside the Pentagon, part-time. I would also never tell my boss at my current job "Sorry I can't work late tonight because I have another job to get to" if they need you to, I would just call out of the second job and if it becomes a problem for the second job o well, maintaining your full-time position needs to be your #1 priority.
I have worked two jobs in the past, it can be draining but sometimes you got to do what you got to do. Like I said, just be careful that the important job doesn't get messed up by the side job.Graduated - WGU BS IT December 2011
