Same here! I've been there by spending a weekend doing inventory too before an audit and after a supposed theft.

The most I do is fill out a form, then Facilities and Ops comes and picks up

Oh, I found the monitor - rather. Someone came up to me asking me "Are you looking for a monitor?"

An end-user decided that they needed the monitor for a presentation.

Grr.

I've helped my school techs do it. It really stinks. I have an internship this next year partnered through the same school and I feel like I will end up getting to do inventory the first week. Yay. ._. Hahaha.

Not an IT inventory but back when I worked at Best Buy I did one. If you have never seen the folks at Regis do inventory it is a sight. They can count quicker than lightning. Sucked though because we had to recount everything they counted then if it was off we had to recount... Took forever.

Yep. going to have to do/supervise one soon. We're mostly a relatively fresh crew in this place and need to redo all baselines including stock.
