(Yet Another Resume Critique)

Hey Guys and Gals

I finally got around to updating my resume and would very much appreciate any feedback you might have. I finally feel like i got it to a pretty good place.

Actually i have one other thing I would kinda like an opinion on. I've been progressing along in my IT career fairly well, working towards a degree through WGU and studying for certs in my off time. However a job offer out of the IT field kinda landed in my lap the other day and the fact that is more than double what I'm making now (85k+) has put me in a bit of a quandry. The work actually sounds really interesting to me and i might be able to work on a few projects that would be useful on an IT resume, but its definitely off the IT career path aways. I'd likely be in that job for about two years.

My question is this, do you think it would be really detrimental to my experience track i have going here to put a 2 year gap in the IT work experience and would you guys ever consider making a switch like this?

Thanks!

    On page 2 where it says "Softech Computer" and under it says your role there, I think you got them switched. On the other jobs you has the title over the company.

    Overall, its a pretty good resume. Lengthy for me, but lot of details.
    What other position are we talking about? Seems hard to pass up something that will double your income. You can keep pushing certs at that position.

    For your resume-- few comments (just my personal opinion)

    Summary seems to be pretty long for a "Summary".

    "Relevant Experience", why put Relevant here instead of just Experience?

    Your resume seems really long as a whole. You have a lot of good experience though so not sure if you should cut anything, but make sure your bullets under your jobs are relevant and to the point.

    A few things:
    - Your name should be in that second page. If they print it, lose the page, find it later and gets mixed up then they may not know where it came from.
    - If the items are in list format the second line should begin right under the first letter instead of the actual dash. If you are using Word just insert a space after the dash so list format kicks in
    - What's with those commas after the title? Did you just delete the city and that's why it looks off?
    - Have you considered having the Professional Summary as a paragraph?
    - I am a big fan of listing a summary of duties in a paragraph and the follow with a few bullets with key accomplishments. The way you present it looks uninteresting as the accomplishments are all mixed up with the duties
    - Not sure if my eyes deceive me but the Tek Systems paragraph looks to be at a bigger font size
    - Misspellings: McAfee, VoIP, "Vista 7", HP

    @unique

    The other position is a Logistics Coordinator (truck Scheduling/dispatch/Load balancing). I'm pretty confident i could have that job automated within a few months fo being there (One of the aforementioned projects.)

    Relevant Experience is a holdover from when i had a resume guy do up my CV, I'll change it.

    @Cyberguypr

    That's a really good point on the Name. Also thanks for the formatting and spelling corrections.

    The resume guy i had do this up said to not really list duties, just have them show through your accomplishments, is that not reccommended?
    On changing up duties/accomplishments that will push my resume even longer but probably not to 3 pages, is that alright do you figure?

    Yeah that does seem like it might be automated, but might not be as easy as we are thinking. Just depends what you want to get into.

    Summary is always a debatable place. I would think that summary should give the reader a quick snapshot of your skills. A recruiter once told me a useful quote that went something like this:

    "A resume should be a quick glimpse of your qualifications and make the employer want to call you to find out more information"

    The resume is just needed to get an interview. During the interview, you should be more detailed than what your resume says, but your resume should highlight all the accomplishments and major duties.
