Questions about WGU transfer evaluation/ Ethical question

Ok, so I'm starting my degree program at WGU on 9/1 in IT-Network Admin. I got my transfer evaluation today and I was happy to see that 41 CUs will be taken care of due to prior course work. Yay! However as I was looking closely I saw that CSV1 Operating Systems got the "Transfer" status as well. I believe this is the MCTS 70-680 class and looking through the requirements I actually don't have the certifcations that are supposed to cover this. I only have 2 certs: MTA OS 98-349, and MTA Networking 98-366. What do you guys think I should do? I mean, I think that class would be a pretty good learning experience and the 70-680 certification would look good on my resume right? Does anyone have any opinion or guidance on what I should do about this?

I think your best option would be to contact WGU and ask them if you can still take classes that your transfer-credits cover, (and ask them to clarify what class covers what, if you're unsure.)

If they allow you to take the class and the 70-680 cert, great. If they don't, you may have to pick up a book and pursue the test on your own.

Other OS exams sometimes transfer as CSV1. My Vista Configuration exam counted as a transfer so I didn't have to take the class. You could always call if you wanted to make sure

Well I've never taken any other OS exams besides the 98-349 MTA OS Essentials. I read all the transfer requirements for CSV1 and it says it will be waived with both 98-349 and 98-365. I'm guessing the evaluator didn't see the word "both" and just counted the 98-349 or he mistakenly used my 98-366 as the 98-365. Luckily I already have the self paced MCTS 70-680 book so I guess really it's just an ethical question to me. That and I really would like to get the test paid for through tuition :)

They took my MTA OS and waived that class as well, kinda annoyed by that though, I'm teasing with the idea of requesting that class get unwaived since it seems kinda dumb that class got waived by MTA OS of all things. :/

You can talk to your mentor and tell them what went on and you can drop the transfer and take the class.

i would take it after wgu if you really want it

wgu costs $16 a day to attend so if they will let you out of the class take it after it will save you in the end

to make it cost effective you would have to do the entire thing in under 12 days (8 days to cover voucher and 4 for a book and any videos you want to buy) after that wgu costs more to take the cert.

if you can do it in 12 or less do it but if not id wait
    wgu undergrad: done ... woot!!
WGU MS IT Management: done ... double woot
