Recommendation on a local printer that can be networked and performs well
Looking for a printer that can scan with color and performs well. My boss is in the market for a local / networked printer only for them.
Hopefully fairly effecient on ink and doesn't jam or need maintenance very often.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I like all-in-ones because I do use fax....regardless of what techrepublic says, a lot of people/companies still use faxes. lol. -

I'm thinking 150 USD is enough to get a nice one that performs fairly well. -

Very nice (so far) and has wireless built in.Currently reading:

It does color printing, scanning, and copying, and faxing for about USD$129.00. And its wireless. I find myself using it more often than the HP's. And the ink is a lot cheaper than HP's.
If you don't need photo quality or speed of laser printer, I highly recommend the Epson. -
Everyone Member Posts: 1,661I was issued an HP OfficeJet 6500A Plus. It's been a great. Has both wireless and wired network connections. Duplex. Scanner/copier has the feed tray so you can scan/copy multiple pages. I have yet to buy ink for it (had it since May), but I do much more scanning than printing.

Everyone Member Posts: 1,661I got news for you. Dell doesn't make printers. Most of them are made by Lexmark. Some by Canon and Samsung, and probably other brands, to include HP. Dell just has them put their logo on it, and a few minor modifications that force you to buy Dell ink instead of ink that would fit the equivalent model of whoever made the printer.

I don't really know the home printer scene(under $200) too well. I'm using a laser KM that i got used for $25 on craiglist. Quite a steal. As for the more expensive models, the new Lexmark laser MFP's are very nice for the price. -

Definitely aware of that, I had to purchase an envelope feeder for an equivalent model of Lexmark to get the envelope feeder. The reality is that we don't print enough to warrant completely outsourcing our printing but enough to need solid printers. Re-branded doesn't make them bad, it just means there's less confusion if I'm not around to call the vendor for warranty support. They are all familiar and comfortable with dell.
On top of that, HP has an awful web-site. I don't mind digging for info on server related stuff, but when it comes to printers, don't make me dig. It needs to be easy, I've got better things to do. -
SteveLord Member Posts: 1,717Agreed with HP's site being garbage. Especially the state/govt IT sections. I only use HP because if they break, it's easy to find a technician to fix them. I have 2 of their printers (HP P4015) I do not like because of their drivers/settings/printer preferences panel. I have good experience with Brother for "simple" and cheap printing needs.
But then I hate printers in general for many reasons I could write a book on. Especially since their main function is to produce paperwork....which I also hate.WGU B.S.IT - 9/1/2015 >>> ??? -
