Purpose of static NAT?

An inside IP is mapped to an outside IP. What is the point of static NAT again?

Another would be if you change service providers and you get a new IP address you would not have to change the IP address on your server or any other inside address. just change the Nat Pool on the Router config.I love the Search Function!
