Mozy Pro to the Rescue!

Where I work they have always used a cloud based backup solution. Recently we moved from IronMountain to Mozy Pro. It has been a very smooth ride and Mozy has done a fine job. Obviously, in the back of your head you wonder if it will work when the time comes. We get a weekly report of failed backups for various users, but you don't really know till you have to do it. On Monday I had a rep call me outside to speak with me. He tells me he lost his laptop while on a business trip. I explain we'll get him a replacement, but it is going to take a couple hours. I got lucky in I had a laptop ready for a future hire that got put on hold. Took 20 minutes to setup everything for him and two hours to replace all his data. Of course, it appears that his archiving wasn't taking place, but other then that we got everything back. Go cloud!
