Switch layer 3

in CCNA & CCENT
So I removed a switch layer 2 because the company send us a new Switch. Now this the first time I going to use a layer 3 switch so in my previous switch I just needed to connect the router interfaces and thats it. like this one is layes 3 in the switch start point I need to use a IP like a router? like this
fa0/1 192.168.10.2/24
fa0/0 192.168.10.1/24
SWLayer3
Router
or just plug and play like the old one?

Optionssratakhin Member Posts: 818If you aren't using inter-VLAN routing, then yes, just plug the cables like you did with the old switch. You will, however, need to provide an IP address for the switch management VLAN to be able to manage it remotely, but that's something that any switch is capable of. Just look at the configuration of the old switch and you'll see what I mean.
