Taking ROUTE tomorrow

I'm taking the ROUTE exam tomorrow, wish me luck! icon_lol.gif I passed SWITCH in June and I have been hitting the books/labs hard everyday for the last three months to prepare for ROUTE. Any tips for getting ready for TSHOOT?

Luck has been wished for you!

from what i've read around here, take TSHOOT when ROUTE/SWITCH is still in your head. It's not too bad. It also sounds the most fun exam :D

If you've kept the SWITCH material fresh in your head, I'd second taking it very soon after the ROUTE. IIRC, I took ROUTE and TSHOOT on the same day. It's an easy pass for someone who's mastered the basics of both exams. It's mostly a hurdle for those who let their prior knowledge go stale, or someone passed without understanding the basics. Do set aside a few hours to fully understand the TSHOOT topology to save troubleshooting time on the exam.

Passed! 906 out of 1000. It was tough, but not as tough as SWITCH.

I'm thinking of scheduling it for end of September. However, I keep reading that it might be a better idea to take it ASAP after passing SWITCH/ROUTE since everything is still fresh in your mind. I found the TSHOOT demo to be a piece of cake... I wonder if the real exam is as easy.

The real exam is very similar to the demo, including commands supported / not supported.

    Good luck! You got this.
"Check both the destination and return path when a route fails." "Switches create a network. Routers connect networks."

It's very common for people to report TSHOOT scores of 1000/1000. I didn't find it particularly hard, and finding where the faults are should be common sense based on the description.

Congrats man! Glad to hear it is obtainable with 3 solid months of studying. This is where my goals are set as well. What did you use for your study material if you don't mind me asking. Also best of luck with TSHOOT!

Thanks Daniel! I think that three solid months per CCNP exam should be more than enough. For both SWITCH and ROUTE I used the OCG, CBT Nuggets, Google, and I did tons of LABS (Free Cisco labs for CCNA, CCNP & CCIE !).

    Congrats!
I did TSHOOT a week after Route. It was fine for me other than missing most of the commands I wanted to use, lol.
