Second Shot is back! Includes some 2008 + 2012 exams

Here’s what to do:

1. Register to receive a Second Shot voucher for either a single exam or a certification pack. Click a link in the table below to get started.

2 . Using the Second Shot voucher number, schedule and pay to take your initial exam through our testing provider, Prometric, at http://www.register.prometric.com.

3. Take your exam.

4. If you do not pass your exam the first time, you may register to take the same exam again at no charge, via http://www.register.prometric.com. Provide them with the same Second Shot exam voucher number when registering the second time. NOTE: Please wait one day after failing the exam to register for the retake, to allow for test results to be entered into the system.

Does it mean that I can buy the second shot voucher when I'm actually ready for an exam in, let's say, several months?

Q. How long is the Second Shot offer available?

A. You will have to get a Second Shot voucher code, schedule an exam, pay for your exam, take the exam the first time, and take your retake exam before the voucher expiration date. Check your voucher for the expiration date.

I was forced to buy a second shot voucher last week at Prometric for my 646. As usual I had been dilly dallying around with when to give my exam, was not confident on monday, had a meeting on tuesday etc etc so on Wednesday I walked in to prometric in the afternoon to give the exam. Prometric told me that they have exhausted across all centers the single shot vouchers and if I wanted to give the exam immediately I will need to buy a second shot voucher.
First time I was not happy about clearing in one shot
