Upgrade 2500 access server memory
Just got some memory sticks in today for my AS2509-rj access server.
8 flash | 16 DRAM
Wow what a job to upgrade memory.
I popped the lid and took out my 8 flash and put in the new one in to check it, = good.
I did the same with the 16 DRAM, = good.
The flash has 2 memory banks, so I popped out the new 8,
and put in the original 8 in bank1, and the new 8 in bank 2.
I booted up the AS2509 to check the show version.
I see my
NVram reads good 14336k/2048,
but my
FLASH mem reads
8192k flash partition 1 (ReadONLY)
8192 flash partition 2 (Read/Write)
I google, WTF!@#$% partition (read only) partition 2 WTF! ,,, google did not like me say wtf!@#$, so i had to google some more!
This is what i had to do so I could do the IOS upgrade.

yeah the big monkey IOS for an Access server. No more dumb IOS for a 2500 router
I have been using the 2500 router, as an Access Server, for some time now but never flashed the correct IOS on it.
It was very buggy
Now I can build my config better I hope
