Loopback Interface Vlan ID
Question:
If you configure a loopback interface on a switch does the traffic to and from the loopback interface get a VLAN tag. Or will it default to whatever the native VLAN is for untagged traffic. Or will it default to VLAN 1?

Traffic to/from that loopback can pass through any number of VLANs to get to it and the tag on those frames depends on where the traffic is going to/from. For instance if a host in VLAN2 pings that loopoback the frame will have a tag of 2 as it travels through the switched network, but what you have to keep in mind is the only place this tag exists is on a layer 2 trunk. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
