EIGRP Neighbour for every VLAN question
Two switches connected together with trunk. Both switches have the same 5 vlans with SVI's set up. VLANs 1 - 5
Both switches running EIGRP.
Question: when a I do a sh ip eigrp neighbours every VLAN shows as a neighbour? would it not be best to set passive interface default and just add no passive interface vlan 1, to save all the overhead?
Can anybody see any other reason why I would not do this? save on overhead, hello's etc?
Many thanks

Fantastic, thanks. -
shednik Member Posts: 2,005As it's been said only have the networks which would have another network device talking EIGRP be set to not passive, any others I would set to passive.
My personal preference is to have a small /28-/30 size transit network between devices and have those be the only ones speaking an IGP.
