So I have finished my M.S. Information Security and Assurance from WGU. It was a great experience and I learned plenty of information that not only helped me with my current job it has helped me move forward with future opportunities. I strongly recommend the program for anyone who would like a valuable Masters in that field and not just a piece paper.

Chris:/* Member Posts: 658 ■■■■■■■■□□Thanks for the gratz,
I ran through the program in a little over two years but I did stack some semesters with five classes. One of the biggest things the MS helped me with is explaining technical concepts to Business leadership with the correct terminology. It has allowed me to bridge that gap and steer the audience in the direction they need to go.
I will be moving from a Senior Systems Engineer/Do everything position to a specialized senior security position. The position is in flux right now as I work out the details.
As for the questions about the class material being enough for the certifications, I think so. I may have had to research more data on specific subjects that I had little exposure to but that was the limit of additional material.Degrees:

Yes that is the direction I am going, I am finishing the certification for eCPPT which I will follow up with OSCP.Degrees:
M.S. Information Security and Assurance

Chris:/* Member Posts: 658 ■■■■■■■■□□Thanks, yeah I plan on taking it after a few more technical certifications. At this time I do not need it to progress in the direction I am going, though I know I will need it in the future. I have read the material off and on for the better part of three years. It keeps the information fresh and when I need to get the CISSP it won't take as long to study for.Degrees:
M.S. Information Security and Assurance
B.S. Computer Science - Summa Cum Laude
A.A.S. Electronic Systems Technology -

Well same here, I studied a good part of CISSP then I dropped it since I have other short term plans. Will definitively take it later. -
