I am a little confused in regards to mac addressesing over point to point links. I understand layer 2 addressing is not used over PPP or HDLC unless Frame relay is used then the DLCI address (L2) comes into play. For PPP and HDLC does that meanONLY Ip addressing is used and encapsulated by the the layer 2 PPP or HDLC protocol. Please see example below
router A (PPP)
point to point
router B (PPP)
Would this mean when router A talks to router B only the ip address is used?
Thanks for your help
