Change of gears. Potential new job :)

So, recently I left a ISP company for a change because my role as Tech Support was turning into a sales role. I hate sales, lol. Not to mention crazy residential customers :p I took a position with CompuCom as a Jr. Admin which is basically server work. The company seems to be kind of unorganized, training is non-existent. And it seems like a very political environment and no clarity of policies. So, the job kind of turned me off. A lot of finger pointing, I noticed.

Come to the rescue is a call from a telecommunications company. They're a Cisco Gold Partner. Started with a phone interview and that went well so they called me in. I had the interview and did very well, and did well on the technical assessment. I put in my resume three weeks ago because a former classmate told me to put one in and he would put in a good word. The company seems legit, they offered a drink before & after the interview. I interviewed with the NOC manager. Awesome guy. We went over the growth opportunities and it goes Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, and you can do VOIP, Network Security, etc. So that got me excited.

The company pays for all the Cisco certifications and training material

So, I sent a thank you letter via email, and the response was "Thanks! I'll be in touch soon regarding next step"

Very excited, and hopefully I get it! This is the 'start' in the Cisco world I've been looking for! :D

Congrats! It sounds like a much better job the "Tech Support/Complaint Department. You can only move forward in networking from here on out!
He who SYNs is of the devil, for the devil has SYN'ed and ACK'ed from the beginning. For this purpose, that the ACK might destroy the works of the devil.

Not a done deal yet, but I feel very confident. And, amen to that! They clarified to me that the calls will be strictly professional and nothing like tech support. I told the lady in the phone interview that I was tired of getting cursed at :p lol haha

Didn't hear anything today about the job but hopefully soon! The lady said "I'll be in touch soon regarding next steps" so that's what I'm hanging on to! I want this job.
