Hello all,
I am currently an InfoSec and Assurance student in college and I am looking to get involved with Web Application Security and Development, totally knew to the concept, I know a little about penetration testing because this past summer I completed research at Dakota State University, I currently use "hacking" labs to help me learn more but to be honest it is difficult for me because I do not know the concepts of web development and scripting languages such as JavaScript, PHP, Python etc. but I really would like to learn them.
My question is do you guys have any recommendations on books and/or tutorial websites? I also know that I need help with networking protocols, I feel that if I can get a solid understanding of these concepts then I can finally learn what I have been craving. I know that my major core classes will help me learn all of this information but I feel that the sooner I learn the better because I know there are plenty of resources out there to help me, I just am having trouble sifting through them to choose the best options, and I want to get a leg up on my peers if I can

Concerned Water Member Posts: 338 ■■■■□□□□□□For network basics, I recommend Network+ material. Here's a good book.
