port security violation logging question

in my test environment I do not have snmp traps is there a default logging on the switch to see what time a violation occurred and from what mac address?

Do you have local logging configured? The local log rolls so if you don't catch it will disappear.

There are some free syslog servers out there, so you could always set up a syslog server.
