I am pretty new to this forum, although I have been lurking here for awhile. I decided to apply for WGU, in which I just received a provisional acceptance. I am fairly new to IT. My actual profession is an electrician, a bit deceiving in title for me, but I have been doing a lot of hardware IT work. Such as network hardware installations, cabling, and terminations. I am very excited to get started on a BS degree. I am going into the Network Design and Management curriculum. I am currently finishing a couple general education classes at a local school and hope to begin in Feb.
I recently been picking up a few books and some equipment to get practicing: Poweredge Server, A couple Cisco switches and routers, and some other basics. I believe I am heading in the right direction and much of that is thanks to reading on this forum.

jdballinger Member Posts: 252Welcome to the forums, and congratulations on being accepted to WGU! I started there last month, and I've been lurking around these forums for a while as well. It's a fantastic community, and my decision to go to WGU was based in no small part on the positive experiences of individuals on these boards. It sounds like you have a great plan in mind and you definitely have the right attitude towards your studies.
Congrats and welcome again! -
