Good Evening

Currently layed off .
I really enjoy Networking.. Will Finish NEtwork Fundalementals this month. Have 3 more parts to complete before I take certification.

I have no experience in networking, Work in customer service since college.

I was thinking of working with a good agency I was thinking about Teksystems or AddecoTEchnical. Can I mess up my chances of getting a good job working through an agency? What are your thoughts??

Nope Agencys are excellent starting points, they GET you the exp you need! :)

I can personally vouch for TEKsystems, they placed me in great places for the 4-5 years I was with them. I have literally nothing to say bad about them.

Addeco on the other hand...they are the bloody devil. They don't listen to concerns, and wage-wise they are cheap mother***kers

Agencies can be a good starting point and even way to further your career. There are companies that go through agencies before they bring you on as permanent employees.

With agencies I think the most important thing to remember is that it's the recruiter that's the most important part. If you have a good recruiter then you will be fine but a bad one can really make it bad for you. I've worked with TekSystems before as well and had a great recruiter that kept me informed every step of the way. In fact he worked with me for several months trying to get me to come to work for them. We would meet at various places each week for him to give me my pay stub and he would always buy me drinks and the account manager took me to some nice lunches several time. icon_cheers.gif He left right before my contract ended sad to say. I attempted to work with another one of their recruiters a month or two ago. He was ok right up until after the interview I had with the company they were trying to get me into. Because I didn't get the job I never heard back from him. Not even to say I didn't get the job. That doesn't mean I won't work for TekSystems again for the right opportunity but I certainly won't work with that recruiter again.

So just make sure that the recruiter is good and you'll be fine.
