Passed Security+
Hi all
Just passed my Security+ certification at the weekend, 865/900
Used Darril's books and the 'Learn Zapp' android app for studying and practice tests.
I studied for about a month and a half, but I have over 12 years IT experience.
Learning the well-known ports was pretty important, as well as the CompTIA's take on risk, Access controls, Authentication (especially Multi-factor) and physical security.
Also came across "DNAT" in the exam, which I had not encountered before, apparently it is just port forwarding.
Good luck to everyone else studying for and taking the exam.

Interesting about ports. Some people don't get any port questions and some people get hit hard.
Thanks for the info on Destination Network Address Translation (DNAT). You're correct it is just port forwarding. This blog gives a little more information about it: DNAT and Security+ -

Yep, just started working towards upgrading my MCSE to Server 2008 before the exams expire in the middle of next year.
