Contract to Perm worker expenses

Hi All...

For those of you who have worked for a staffing agency as a contract to perm employee and have had to travel to client sites (I mean fly, get a hotel, etc ), who paid for your flight, hotel, food, etc?

Just to clarify I am NOT talking about a 1099 contractor. I mean you work for a company via a staffing agency and get a W2 from the staffing agency until you become permanent with the company. However, the company has you traveling via air to different sites. Just want to know who pays.

Thanks!

The company contracted with the staffing agency is supposed to cover those expenses. Any other arrangement is improper per industry practices and if they try to push you to cover expenses, you walk away immediately because they are lying out their ass.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I definitely think they would need to take care of the larger things like flight and hotel. I was concerned about things like daily food, parking, transportation, etc.

So have you ever encountered a company who did not cover everything?
