I Need Help
Heres my Situation:
I am trying to share a dialup connection over a router, i have been sucsefull once but then i shut down the host computer and nothing worked again.....
heres what i get for ip's and stuff
Router:
ip address: 192.168.0.1
Host:
Dhcp Enabled: yes
Autoconfiguartion Enabled: yes
IP Address: 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Defualt Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DHCP Server: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server: 192.168.0.1
Telus Adapter on Host Computer
Description: WAN <PPP/SLIP> Interface
Dhcp Enabled: No
IP Address: 161.184.176.155
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: 161.184.176.155
DNS Servers: 199.185.220.**, and 199.185.220.52
Client
dhcp enabled: no
ip address: 192.168.0.101
subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
defualt gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS server: 192.168.0.1

the host is also running a FAT 32 system on the hard drive and the client is using NTFS. I heard that that can cause a problem on file sharing and stuffTech............................Is the best Tech Ever -

that is your problem over there, why you set your client to not received a DHCP address. In simple ICS world - eventhough you set the clients IP addr the same as your DHCP server - it will not be connected to outer world via your gateway.. because it will not be authenticated as DHCP client (will not received any DHCP parameters)the More I know, that is more and More I dont know. -

Choose properties from the menu
This will bring the network connection window
Right click over the icon that represent your network interface card and choose properties.
This will bring another window check Internet Protocol and click the properties button
This bring another window, here check Obtain ip address automatically and obtain DNS Server address automatically click OK
